Chief Executive Officer and Director
James Colter Eadie is the Chief Executive Officer of Transeastern. He is based in Bucharest, Romania and has spent the last several years focused on the renewable energy sector in Romania and Eastern Europe. Mr. Eadie has a background in real estate development including acquisition, permitting, and construction. He has also worked at a senior level in business advisory roles throughout Europe and North America. Mr. Eadie has an undergraduate degree in urban development from the University of Western Ontario.
Ravi Sood is a financier and venture capitalist based in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Sood has been a founder of and the principal investor in several businesses in emerging markets and currently serves as a director of Feronia Inc. and Galane Gold Ltd. He was the the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Navina Asset Management Inc., a global asset management firm headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Sood led the investment activities of Navina and its predecessor company, Lawrence Asset Management Inc., from its founding in 2001 until he sold the firm in 2010. Mr. Sood was educated at the University of Waterloo (B.Mathematics) where he was a Descartes Fellow and the recipient of numerous national awards.
Mr. Strickland is an experienced operator having held senior roles including President of Buchanan Renewables Fuel Inc., a company with operations in Liberia, West Africa. Mr. Strickland founded and was instrumental in securing financing for the development of Buchanan. Mr. Strickland managed a team of expatriates and over 600 Liberian residents for the company. Buchanan was a pioneer in the production and export of woody biomass to Europe where it was consumed for energy and has won several awards including The Corporate Council on Africa Business Excellence in Natural Resources award in 2009 and The Green Award at the African Business Awards in June 2011. Mr. Strickland is Chief Strategy Officer and Director of Zaio Corp., Director of the Canadian Securities Exchange, Welaptega Marine Ltd., and Feronia Inc. He previously held progressively senior positions in fixed-income trading at investments banks in Toronto and New York. Mr. Strickland holds an HBA from the Ivey School of Business.
Mr. Huxley was most recently a principal of Algonquin Management Inc., the manager of the Algonquin Power Income Fund, from 1997 to his retirement in 2006. Prior to that he was President of Algonquin Power Corporation, a builder, developer and operator of hydroelectric generating facilities in Canada and the United States. Mr. Huxley is currently a director of Kinross Gold Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Amar Bhalla is the President of Capit Investment Corp. an investment management firm focused on private equity and ventural capital. Mr. Bhalla was previously the CEO of Crescent Logic Inc., a Toronto-based software firm and currently serves as a director of several TSX-V listed companies including Ursa Major Minerals, a nickel producer for which he serves as Chairman. Mr. Bhalla holds a B.A. degree in Economics from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.
Marco started his career as a financial department manager of an international company previously called Technipetrol Spa building petrochemicals plants in multiple jurisdictions. Marco was responsible for aspects of client contract negotiations and structuring financing facilities with international banks.. During this period the Company sent Marco to London for a year to train in the International Banking department of Morgan Grenfell & Co, now part of Deutsche Bank.
Marco then joined Italian wealth management firm Azimut SpA wealth as a Private Banker before moving to Credit Suisse Italy; during this period he was a Co-Founder of a financial consulting company for small enterprises and Chairman of the Board of Directors of a Municipality-owned Company called Volturno Multiutility SpA in a small town near Naples. Marco has a Degree in Economics and graduated cum laude at the University of Naples and has a Master in Business Administration in Italy.
